In 2011 the Royal Institution of British Architects (RIBA) ran an international pylon design competition on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and National Grid.
Danish firm, Bystrup, won the competition with the T-Pylon and since then we have been working with Bystrup developing, building and testing the new pylon in Denmark. Read more about that on National Grid’s T-pylon blog
National Grid will continue to monitor the progress of the T pylon design and stakeholders will be asked for their views on it when the project resumes.
